Mr Thomas was looking for a more enviromentally friendly heating system which would also save on his power bills. He had learned from web research that a Solar Water Heating System would be the ideal solution. This in part due to the long life of the system coupled with funding avaliable from the "Energy Savings Trust".

As per all of Monaghan & Hornals quotes, the site was personally surveyed and all details discussed with Mr Thomas to his satisfacation. Each surveyor has over 20 year experience and knows the various facets of a Solar Water Heating System.

A 4m2 set of evacuated tube solar panels was deemed to be the most suitable solution for Mr Thomas. Ideally placed on a South facing part of the house in either portrait or landscape.

Mr Thomas recieved a personalised quote for the work and was able to recieve 30% funding from the "Energy Savings Trust".

The system installation date was set for Spring 2006 and promptly installed over a 24 hour period. In addition, the work was completed with a mimimal amount of distuption and every item of equipment that could be hidden from view, was hidden.

The complete installation was guarenteed for two years with a ten year guarentee on the solar panels themselves.

The system provided hot water between 52 and 55 degrees with a safe guard system in place to prevent the water from heating beyond 71 degrees.

The system generates 3,000 kWh (kilowatt hours) of energy each year. This translates to a saving of approximatly £270.00 per anum (£0.09 kwH). The system will then have paided back its installation costs within ten years. while also saving approximatly 1 tonne of CO2 a year.

In addition, the feature of a Solar Water Heating System is an excellent selling point for Mr Thomas's property.
